DDD Films more of project “Midnight Run” at Orlando Speed World on Saturday April 26th

Saturday was a great day for video and pictures, though track conditions got hotter as the day passed.

We got a chance to give Vic’s car a few shakedown runs and were impressed by the MPH, though getting traction proved more difficult that we thought!

Vic’s suspension is set up to have great street manners, limited wheel hop and limited suspension travel. As a result, it’s not necessarily going to shine at the strip.

Chris Saunier was able to squeeze low-mid 11’s out of it (on Nitto DR’s) at 130 MPH.

This is very impressive considering the lack of practice, weight (almost 4300 LBS: Convertible GT500 + Chris (250 LBS) + a full tank of fuel) and slick tires compared to others. We’ve found that Hoosier drag radials outshine Nittos at the track, though the Nitto is a great tire if you want to drive it on the street with decent tread life.

133 MPH should be attainable with a little practice and with the correct suspension / tire adjustments, we’ve got a 10.60 car.

This car is an absolute screamer, without a single sacrifice in daily drivability.

Here are some pictures of the event:

Many hours went into airbrushing the under-hood cobra:

JLT’s intake fit right in!

Heaten ‘em up

680+ RWHP on pump gas = an absolute scream!

Nero from Titan Motorsports came out, as did one of the cars we Sponsor. Below are some pics of Nero’s new M3: I like the black roof:

The black mustang we sponsor was also there and we shot some great video. Those pics and video coming up in our next blog…

Stay tuned!

Thanks again to everyone who came out!

Bilstein Wins big at SCORE San Felipe 250

Bilstein Wins Big at SCORE San Felipe 250
Martin Christensen and Armin Schwartz- Class 1 triumph in the fastest race of the SCORE off-road series

Poway, CA (April 16, 2008)- Bilstein Shock Absorbers captured another win for its revolutionary 9300 Series Black Hawk off-road race shock at the 22nd SCORE San Felipe 250.

SCORE Champion Martin Christensen of Escondido, CA and World Rally Championship competitor Armin Schwarz of Germany took the unlimited Class 1 race win in their Bilstein equipped All German Auto desert race car. This was the first Class 1 win for Christensen and the first ever SCORE win for Schwarz.

The #104 BMW-powered Jimco Class 1 race car started in fifth position, but quickly moved up the field until claiming the lead spot. Christensen and Schwarz lead the race- crossing the finish line in San Felipe with an elapsed time of 4:08:22 and average speed of 56.05mph.

Out of the 18 starters in Class 1, only 12 finished the rigorous 232-mile race. Christensen/Schwarz finished 4th overall in the Truck and Car classes.

When asked how he felt about the win, Christensen commented:

“It’s great! All German Motorsports has had many successes in the past with Bilstein Shocks, so we are very pleased to add a Class 1 victory to the list of wins.”

This was another SCORE race win for the Bilstein 9300 Series Black Hawk. It was also the first time a BMW-powered vehicle has ever won Class 1 in a SCORE race.

Congratulations to Martin Christensen and Armin Schwarz on their win.

Marketing is EVERYTHING !

We all work hard to produce quality products and provide exceptional service…

Unfortunately, this in itself doesn’t sell product. Every product or service needs Marketing.

Marketing is synonymous with SALES !

It’s an obvious statement; most successful companies have a strong marketing program. In more recent years, however, there has been a major “paradigm shift” in where consumers do their shopping, and there is need to adjust the marketing channels used to reach buyers. Those who aren’t adjusting are seeing their bottom line shrink.

Old Marketing isn’t right for new times

It’s 2008, almost 10 years into the new Millennium. The “Y2K” panic is long gone and the internet has become an extremely efficient, fast way to shop. Many of us rely on it (you’re reading this e-mail, aren’t you? =o) Automotive enthusiasts constantly search the internet for new performance products, videos of their type car, and to socially connect with other like minded people on places like MySpace, Cardomain, YouTube, Streetfire, Forums and Directories.

People want information and they know the fastest way to get it is on the internet!

If sales are down, ask yourself an honest question: Is your marketing strategy getting you in front of people where they shop in 2008 or is it still from the age when no one had computers and thumbing through papers was their only option? (Besides visiting their local speed shop where the parts guy fumbled through 2 year old catalogs) For long term survival, it is now necessary to adapt, and focus on where people make most of their buying decisions today.

Good News: Less is MORE

Internet Marketing is considerably more cost effective than other types of media. In fact, many of the actions you can take to gain more market share won’t cost you a dime! (Call me and I’ll be happy to share some of these with you).

Here’s a loose analogy:

Most of us love vintage muscle cars and may even have one in our garage.

What is usually parked next to it? A highly efficient, modern vehicle with digital fuel injection, A/C, and fuel mileage in the 20’s or 30’s.

Which one do you drive everyday to work where you make money?

That ‘Cuda is beautiful, but at 9 MPG you don’t drive it to work everyday…its too inefficient…old technology!

I use this comparison because I don’t think print advertising is dead, it’s just losing effectiveness compared to new wave media. While abandoning it completely may not be a great idea, refocusing an increasing portion of your marketing efforts online is a great way to get in front of more of today’s buyers.

If you’re on board with DDD already, call us for some new marketing ideas and to tell us what has been working for you! We’re constantly performing market research and refining the marketing process.
